Ben is a highly driven and experienced improvement advisor who is passionate about finding and delivering improvement efforts to supporting front-line clinicals which in turn improve patient outcomes, but also the experience they receive.

Ben graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2016, where he studied Business Management with Leadership & Change. Since then, he worked in the field of quality improvement within healthcare both in consultancy roles and acute hospitals. He is Head of Continuous Improvement Programmes at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and has responsibility for managing and overseeing the delivery of the core capacity and capability programmes including CI Basics and Leading Improvement into Action.

In 2022, Ben graduated from the Improvement Advisor Professional Development Programme with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) as part of Wave 72.

Ben has led multiple large scale quality improvement collaboratives across a range of care settings and healthcare disciplines. He has experience of reviewing academic papers and abstracts for the BMJ Open Quality Journal and BMJ International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare. Ben has particular interests in data measurement for improvement, human factors in patient safety incident events and patient flow.
